Knauf gypsum fiber: specifications, application, price

Drywall refers to sheet gypsum materials that are used in interior decoration. One of the varieties is gypsum fibrous sheet, which has become an alternative to gypsum board for lining wooden walls, arranging the bulk floor.

It is worth noting the material gvlv knauf, characterized by environmental cleanliness, high quality, moisture resistance and fire protection.

Production Technology Material

Is produced knauf superlist in accordance with GOST R 51829-2001, according to the method of pressing a gypsum mixture with evenly distributed fibers of fluffy waste paper.

The back and front of gvlv knauf It is covered with water repellent, polished and processed from chalking. According to the shape of the longitudinal edge, the sheets are divided into products with a fold (FC) and a straight (PC) edge. The end parts have rectangular edges.

On the back of the sheets there is a blue marking that includes data on the type of material, its longitudinal edges, thickness, width and length of the sheets (mm), standard. For example, gvlv sheet 10 mm thick, 1200 mm wide and 2.5 m long, with longitudinal seam edges will be marked GVLV-FK-2500 * 1200 * 10 GOST R 51829-2001.

In the production process and before sale, the material is subjected to strict technical control, which guarantees high quality. The supporting documents are the certificate of conformity, GOST, fire safety certificate and hygienic certificate for use in civil engineering.

Apply sheet decoration can on the following types of industrial, public, administrative and residential facilities:

  • Any fire hazard classes (including F1),
  • Any classes of constructive fire hazard, as well as СО,
  • Any levels of fire resistance (including 1 degree),
  • Different designs, number of storeys and degrees of responsibility.

The operation of moisture-resistant super sheets is recommended in facilities with non-aggressive environments and high humidity.

To the main areas of application of sheets gvlv knauf applies:

  • Fire protection of enclosing, supporting and other structures, where requirements are imposed on the level of fire resistance at zero flame spread (ceilings and walls on evacuation routes, frame objects, wooden structures, cable ducts, beams, columns, communication shafts),
  • Construction of couplers of prefabricated flooring Knauf,
  • Soundproofing and fire protection of building envelopes.

Advantages and disadvantages of the material

The main advantages of the material gvlv knauf applies:

  • Incombustibility. There is no cardboard in the composition, it contains about 80% gypsum and 20% cellulose fibers, which are obtained from MS-10 waste paper. Additives are added to increase viscosity and density.
  • Creating a favorable indoor climate,
  • The lack of uncomfortable "wet" work,
  • Savings in construction costs are provided by lightweight construction
  • Strength (in comparison with simple GCR),
  • High labor productivity,
  • Lack of toxic substances and optimum acidity,
  • The ability to breathe provides the absorption of excess moisture and its release to the outside,
  • Compliance with stringent international standards.

Knauf superlist combines high strength, fire-technical, soundproofing and other indicators that meet the standards for sheet finishing building materials.

The disadvantages of the material include fragility, high weight, processing complexity. You need to cut the sheets carefully with a special knife along the GVL, aligning the edges with a planer or a jigsaw.

GVL technical indicators

Due to the fact that hvvv specifications special application material is possible in a covering of a ceiling, walls and a floor. Super-impregnated superlists can be used at objects of any purpose, including at high humidity.

Since high y hvvv specifications, application material is possible in rooms with any level of humidity. Superlists are white with a gray tint.

Material properties and its application

GVLV sheets have a rectangular shape (with a maximum deviation of 3 mm). Compared with GKL, superlists are more durable, fire and frost resistant, are distinguished by the quality of sound insulation and bearing capacity. Therefore on gypsum fiber sheet moisture resistant Price higher.

In the process of using gypsum sheets, the following steps are performed:

  • Marking the designed partition on a flat floor,
  • Marking on the ceiling,
  • Fixing to the base surface of the floor or ceiling of the guide rails of the frame,
  • Fastening rack profiles to guides and grip parts,
  • Mounting in the frame of embedded elements and electrical wiring for the installation of stationary equipment,
  • Gasket between the frame posts of the heat insulator,
  • Installation and fixation of superlists on the inside of the frame,
  • Sealing of joints and recesses from screws with the help of putty Fugen GV, Uniflot (previously all joints are covered with Tifengrund primer) in accordance with operating conditions),
  • Primer before using the finish.

Installation work must be carried out during decoration, in winter in heated rooms, until clean floors are completed, but after the completion of “wet” work, the wiring of plumbing and electrical structures at normal or low humidity (according to SNiP 23-02-2003). Room temperature should not be lower than 10 degrees. Preliminary Knauf gypsum sheet must undergo indoor adaptation.

In rooms of high humidity (showers, bathrooms), the adjoining nodes are protected with mastic, and the surface is covered with waterproofing tape.

Material handling and fastening

Before using superlists, they must be kept indoors for temperature and humidity adaptation in a horizontal position on an even basis.

In the assembly area, GVLV sheets must be transported by hand trucks or using special handles in a vertical form.

If a special knife is used for cutting, then a rail or a metal ruler should be attached along the line along which an incision is made with a depth of 1-1.5 mm. After that, the sheet is laid at the mark along the edge of the working surface and is broken, divided into parts. To clean the edges you can use a plane.

Curly holes are formed by round cutters, a jigsaw or a piercing saw.

In each type of work, the length of the fastener and the pitch are different. So, for single-layer sheathing, self-tapping screws 30 mm long are fastened at a distance of 25 cm. In two-layer finishes for the first coating, the pitch is 75 cm (with self-tapping screws 30 mm), for the next layer 25 cm (with the length of the fasteners 45 mm). The fastener hats are recessed 1 cm into the sheets at a right angle, penetrate the metal profile by at least 10 mm. Incorrectly installed or bent fasteners must be removed and replaced with new ones with a distance of 5 cm from the previous ones.

Laying sheets on the floor

Ideal sheets gvlv knauf for a floor. Slabs with a thickness of 12 mm can be mounted on any base (made of wood or concrete).

The sequence of work will be as follows:

  • Edge banding
  • Installation of insulation or filling expanded clay,
  • Sheet mounting,
  • Surface coating with mastic or glue,
  • Laying the second layer,
  • Fixation of layers with fasteners (screws),
  • Priming surface,
  • Laying the main coating (linoleum, laminate).

When installing floors in the bathroom, it is necessary to process the joints with a waterproofing tape, which will provide reliable protection against moisture and premature deformation.

It is convenient to use the GVLV sheets for independent work, as the material is easy to process. The stores offer different options for sheets that differ in size and thickness. This simplifies the layout and further installation.

Construction of soundproof walls

Applying soundproofing qualities, most apartment owners can mount partitions themselves, enhancing the soundproofing of the walls. For these purposes apply gypsum fiber sheet moisture resistant, price which will be higher than ordinary drywall.

To obtain the ideal effect, two layers are usually laid on each side of the wall, fastened with drilling, piercing self-tapping screws with a double thread pitch, 3.9 mm in diameter.

Primer and putty application

Before applying putty, the Tifengrund Knauf primer is applied to the joints of the super sheets, the fastening points of the screws and the edges are putty with the Fugen GV or Uniflot composition of this manufacturer.

Docking places on inner skins are not reinforced. Reinforcement is carried out on the seam edges of the outer skin with paper tape. It is pressed onto a previously applied putty, after drying of which a nakryvochnyts and a finishing layer is performed.

The dried surface is ground and primed according to the decorative coating used.

No need to buy sheets from an unverified manufacturer, where there is no supporting documentation, since conformity of products to the standard guarantees the safety and quality of the final design.

What is gypsum fiber sheet (GVL) Knauf

GVL Knauf - homogeneous sheet material of high density. An improved version of drywall.

Like gypsum plasterboard, it consists of a gypsum binder, only with fluffy waste paper fibers, special additives that increase strength and moisture resistance, and without a cardboard cover. More dense, with a homogeneous structure.

The main stage in the manufacture of sheets is the pressing of a mixture of gypsum, cellulose fibers and additives that improve the operational properties of the finished product.

Material benefits

When gypsum board is not suitable for creating walls, floors or for finishing work, gypsum fiber is used. As an alternative to standard drywall sheets.

There are several reasons for this:

  • High strength, impact resistance, resistance to heavy loads,
  • Fire resistance
  • Soundproofing properties,
  • Environmental Safety.

GVL is universal. Suitable for creating floors, walls, floors.

Its surface acts as a reliable basis for roughing, finishing and decorative compositions.

Well established as fire protection.

If it is unlikely that it will be possible to attach anything heavy to drywall, then the HVL as a wall firmly holds all kinds of brackets with household appliances, shelves with flowers or books, wardrobe accessories.

The cost of GVL depends on the size of the material, type, type of edge.

So, a moisture-proof sheet of FC 2500x1200x10 mm will cost you 538 rubles, a thickness of 12 mm - 640 rubles.

Where are GVL?

Standard gypsum fiber is used to create, insulate walls, cladding skeletons of false ceilings, arrange floors in rooms with a normal level of humidity.

Moisture-resistant Knauf superlists (GVLV) have proven themselves in a humid environment, for example, in bathrooms.

Materials are used in the construction, repair of residential buildings, socially significant, industrial facilities.

They do not emit toxic substances, are compatible with cement mixtures, primers, putties, paints, adhesives.

Application

KNAUF-superlist moisture resistant (GVLV) - homogeneous material with high density. It is produced by pressing a mixture of gypsum binder and fibers of fluffy waste paper. It is used in soundproof, fireproof and shockproof constructions in buildings and rooms with dry, normal and wet humidity conditions according to SNiP 23-02-2003, including in unheated rooms. Treated with water repellent. It is used as a structural fire protection with a fire hazard class of KM1 material. The use of GVLV eliminates “wet” processes and reduces the time for repair and finishing works.

How to choose?

Currently, the building materials market offers a wide range of products. When choosing a Knauf dry screed, give preference to trusted suppliers who can provide a quality certificate and are responsible for the quality of their product. In order not to run into a fake, purchase building materials only in specialized stores that have the necessary license. The experience of professional builders and finishers shows that GVL is the most affordable way to align floors and walls. In addition, you will incur much lower cash costs than using a liquid screed.

KNAUF super floor wholesale - floor element (EP) wholesale - is a factory-ready product for the element-wise assembly of couplers of prefabricated floor bases KNAUF.

The installation process includes the following steps:

Leveling the floor.

Installation of an edge tape around the perimeter of the enclosing structures adjacent to the prefabricated base of the floor.

Laying and leveling the leveling layer of dry backfill.

Installation of the prefabricated base of the floor element (screed), depending on the chosen design solution.

What is GVL: composition, scope

The abbreviation GVL stands for Gypsum-Fiber Sheet. The names are “gypsum / gypsum boards”. Plates, as a rule, are called materials of greater thickness and smaller size, although not a fact. Sometimes both terms apply to the same material. Specifications and requirements are standardized by GOST R 51829-2001, so the material is officially recognized. According to the standard, it can be used in the construction of private, public and industrial premises. Scope - decoration and preparation for the decoration of walls, floors and ceilings. It is used for preliminary finishing, replacing “wet” processes - plastering, puttying, screed filling.

After pressing, the sheet is dried, adjusted to normal humidity (1.5%)

So GVL is one of sheet finishing materials. It consists of cellulose fluffy into fibers, some additives that give the material certain properties (most often substances that increase the water resistance of the material are used). As a binder, gypsum is used. The components are mixed in dry form, water is added to the finished mixture. From the pasty solution, plates are formed which are fed to the press. After pressing, the sheet is brought to normal humidity (dried). Some companies (for example, Knauf) produce polished GVL boards. Such GVL for the floor is too expensive, and for the walls it is good in that it does not need to be puttied before the finish.

Speaking specifically with respect to the floor, GVL is used to align under the finish flooring. It can be laid on the logs, on the rough floor (solid or with cracks). Subject to certain conditions, laying on wooden floors and screed (level dry surface) is possible. Can be used in a pie floating floor, as a material for dry screed.

Types and properties

By the type of edge gypsum boards are with a straight edge (in the marking PC) or seam (FC). The dimensions of the rebate are 2.8-3.2 mm wide and 1.7-2.3 mm deep. Both types can be used for the floor, but there will be no through seams with a fold. This means that there is no need to seal joints. However, the cost of such material is much higher, therefore, GVL with a straight edge is often used.

GVL with a direct and fold edge - two main types

As you know, gypsum is a hygroscopic substance. Therefore, conventional GVL in areas of high humidity are not used. There is a moisture resistant modification for this. The letter “B” is added in front of the abbreviation. That is, VGVL is a moisture resistant gypsum fiber sheet. It can be used in bathrooms, showers, etc. Externally, they do not differ from each other, so we focus on labeling.

There is another type of gypsum fiber sheet - high density. It is produced specifically for the floor, marked GVL EP (floor element). Knauf has such a subspecies. It costs a lot, but also the geometry and strength characteristics at altitude. When using conventional GVL for the floor, as a rule, two sheets are taken, which are laid with offset joints. This gives a sufficient level of strength. As elements of the floor, GVL is recommended to be used in one layer - their strength is sufficient in this version as well.

GVL dimensions and marking

According to GOST, gypsum boards come in the following formats:

  • width 500 mm, 1000 mm, 1200 mm,
  • length 1500 mm, 2000 mm, 2500 mm, 2700 mm and 3000 mm,
  • thickness 10 mm, 12.5 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm.

The deviation in width is not more than 3-4 mm, in length - 3 mm to 2.5 m and 4 mm for longer plates. Deviations in width - not more than 0.3 mm. The plan should be a rectangle. Permissible error (bevel side) - 4 mm.

Gypsum board: standard sizes

Labeling sheets displays all the data - moisture resistance, type of edge and dimensions in millimeters. For example, GVL-PK 2000 * 1000 * 12.5 stands for ordinary (non-moisture resistant) gypsum fiber board with a straight edge. VGLV-FK - this means that the material is moisture resistant and the fold edge.

Flammability category

Gypsum-fiber sheets are classified as slow-burning materials. Cellulose is in gypsum, which does not burn and does not ignite. When in a flame, combustion does not support. Classes by standards are as follows:

  • Non-combustible (class G1) and fireproof (B1).
  • When burning, smoke does not form (D1).

Fire and technical characteristics of domestic hot water. It is classified as flame retardant.

  • Low toxicity (T1). Only natural radionuclides are present.
  • So GVL is recommended for frame housing construction as a material for cladding. It is good for leveling the floor in a wooden house - where the inability to burn is important.

    Specifications

A significant part of the characteristics of GVL is given in the framework of “from and to”. This is due to the fact that different cellulose and a different percentage of its content can be used. If you are looking for material with specific characteristics, view the materials of a particular batch. Each batch should be tested, all indicators are indicated in the accompanying documents. The characteristics of GVL are good, which, combined with a low price, make them popular in the market. Here are the main technical specifications:

    • Strength and viscosity are high - not less than 1000 and not more than 1250 kg / m³. This allows you to screw fasteners into the GVL. The specific resistance to pulling screws is 40-50 n / m. This is two and a half times higher than that of drywall. But for GVL, special self-tapping screws are required.
    • Good soundproof performance. Despite the sufficient density, sounds pass poorly. 30-40 dB attenuation, depending on sheet thickness. There are soundproofing three-layer plates based on GVL.
    • Low coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.22-0.35 W / m * ºС (for comparison, concrete 1.75 W / m * ºС). Using GVL for a floor you reduce expenses for heating.

Comparative characteristics of GVL with other types of sheet decoration materials

  • Bending strength 5.5 MPa. Approximately this characteristic of drywall. But bending GVL will not work, since it has a large thickness.
  • The internal tensile strength of 0.29-0.3 MPa. The indicator is average, the loads are preferably uniform, it reacts poorly to the drums - it can crack if there is no solid base from below.
  • The elastic modulus is 2000-3000 MPa (for GKL 2000, for glass-magnesium sheets 3000-4000).
  • VGLV is one of the most resistant to high humidity materials, which has a low cost. When water gets in or moisture rises, the stove absorbs it. After lowering the moisture level, moisture evaporates. It does not appear in appearance at all. That is, it is a durable moisture-resistant material and it can be used for interior decoration, and even for wet rooms.

If we talk about the specific use of GVL on the floor, the material is not bad. Suitable for leveling, for laying on logs, you can put on expanded polystyrene, which increases the thermal insulation characteristics. This is one of the most inexpensive sheet materials, which explains its popularity.

    General installation principles

It is possible and necessary to use GVL on the floor, but the recommendations must be strictly observed. In general, gypsum fiber sheet does not have a very high strength. Short cellulose fragments reinforce gypsum to some extent, but the material is still quite brittle. Properly laid, it can withstand heavy loads - up to 2 tons per square meter. But the keywords are correctly laid out.

In one layer, and the load can withstand serious

    Base Requirements and Laying Features

GVL can be put both on a continuous, and on an intermittent basis. When laying on a solid foundation, it should be perfectly even. Requirements for the base - a difference of not more than 2 mm by 2 meters in length. Manufacturers insist on this and, if possible, it is better not to violate this recommendation.

    One application

In practice, it was found that small smooth irregularities - over an area of several square centimeters, in depth - several millimeters, are still acceptable. Manufacturers do not recommend it, but in practice it has been proved that GVL behaves more or less normally. The sheet may bend by repeating the shape of the recess. If there is linoleum, art vinyl or another soft coating on top, all that threatens is the appearance of a slight unevenness. It’s better not to leave such depressions under the parquet or laminate flooring, since locks may diverge, and there may be an unpleasant creak.

And, even under a soft coating, bumps can not be left everywhere. If they are in the place of application of the load, it is better to eliminate them. For example, in the aisle or where there will be a leg of a table, chest of drawers, beds, wardrobes. There should not be any irregularities.

Second moment. When laying on a loose base or on logs, GVL are placed on the floor either of increased density (floor elements) or moisture resistant in two layers. When laying in two layers, the sheets are cut out so that the seams of one layer do not coincide with the seams of the other. This is important and the recommendation should not be categorically violated.

The third point. When laying gypsum boards on a hard even floor (concrete), the ends are glued with PVA glue. When laying on a base that does not exclude movements (logs, for example), it is better to use elastic filler for joints. One of the options is a sealant, which remains elastic after drying. It is applied, the layer is immediately leveled (it is possible with a finger in a glove, for the best effect it can be moistened with water).

    How to cut and fasten

GVL can be cut with a hacksaw for metal, for faster results - with a angle grinder (grinder) with a wood disc (ø 125 mm). In a straight line, you can break as well as drywall. To do this, cut on one side of the (front) sheet, put a rule under the place of the cut, tap with your palm on the hanging part, break it. The fault location is far from perfectly flat, so it’s hardly worth cutting the GVL to the floor. The cut has to be leveled, ground, and this takes no less time, and sometimes more, than working with a hacksaw.

Special screws for GVL are needed - with a sharp conical hat

GVL is fixed on the floor with special screws. They are called “gypsum fiber”. They differ in that the hat has a sharper cone. This shape of the cap allows it to enter a dense sheet without prior drilling. The length of the self-tapping screw should be at least 3 times the thickness of the plate. So choose it.

    GVL laying method for logs

GVL on the floor along the lags is taken at an increased density (for Knauf it is Super Paul) or two layers of ordinary moisture-resistant material are laid apart from the seams (they are moved so that the seams do not coincide). In any case, there are two ways to make the floor from the GVL in the lags:

Put the gypsum sheets directly onto the logs. The installation step of the lag depends on the thickness of the plates. The thicker the GVL, the greater the step at the lag. The minimum distance is 30 cm, the maximum is 50-60 cm.

We make the base of the lag

  • On lags, make a rough floor (flat), and already lay gypsum fiber slabs on it. The advantages of this option - logs can be installed in increments of 60-80 cm, which reduces the cost of timber. But you need a floorboard. And although the rough floor may not be continuous, the board should be dry, even and planed, since the base should be even.
  • When laying GVL immediately on the logs, the step of the beam and the dimensions of the sheets should be selected so that the edges of the plates fall on the bars. They are fastened with self-tapping screws, backing at least 1.5 cm from the edge. In the intermediate beam (if a support passes under the sheet), the fastener is installed with the same step. If necessary, the gaps between the lags are filled with heat-insulating or sound-insulating materials. Depending on the floor structure, they are either set aback or laid on a level base.

    Dry screed sheets GVL

This technique was developed by Knauf, and under it a grooved high-density grooved GLL was developed for it. This material is called Super Paul. The essence of the method is that fine claydite (expanded clay sand) is poured onto the base (any, any degree of curvature). Expanded clay is leveled in level, elements of a floor from GVL are put on it. Finishing flooring can be laid on this base. Very quickly and conveniently you can make yourself an insulated floor. In addition, the technique does not create significant loads on the overlap.

GVL on the floor: dry screed

Instead of expanded clay sand, you can use ordinary building dry sand. You cannot mix different materials or different fractions, as sooner or later they will shrink. And when laying GVL on the floor, an even base is required without failures. So drawdowns are best avoided.

    GVL on the concrete basis

Concrete screed is a reliable foundation, but cold. If you do not do the heating, the floor is very cold. This is known to residents of the first floors of high-rise buildings and private houses. The problem is solved by means of a floating floor device with improved thermal insulation characteristics. There is a traditional solution: put a layer of insulation and pour another layer of screed on top. But this weight is too large, and it will take a lot of time. You can make a dry screed - it's faster, easier and cheaper.

Comparison of sound insulation characteristics of various materials

How to make dry screed GVL on a concrete base? A layer of insulation is placed on concrete, and sheet material is placed on top. It is better to use polyurethane foam or expanded polystyrene of increased density (at least 35 kg / m³) as a heater. Why not mineral wool? Because its thermal insulation characteristics are several times lower. This means that instead of 3-5 cm of polyurethane foam, 15-20 cm of cotton wool will be required. Few people want to raise the floor to such a height.

One of the options for sheet material for dry floor screed - gypsum boards. GVL for a floor is ideally suited, since it itself has enhanced heat-insulating properties, and also dampens sounds well. GVL flooring is a good base for laminate, linoleum, carpet and other coatings.

Highlights on the practical use of concrete flooring

When laying GVL on a rigid base, it should lie tightly. Under it there should not be voids and ledges. That is, the concrete base must be even and smooth. GVL laid on concrete. Mounted around the perimeter in increments of 50-60 cm, put the clamps. In general, a gypsum based Rotband type composition may be used. He will fill / level out small irregularities, and will keep the sheets in place.

If it is required to improve thermal insulation characteristics, extruded polystyrene foam (EPS) or polystyrene foam is placed on the concrete floor. It can simply be laid without mounting. But so that the insulation plates do not creak, they should lie tightly. If there are small irregularities, they can be filled with the same glue. It is applied under the slab using a notched trowel. The height of the tooth depends on the bumps that need to be leveled.

To fasten two layers of GVL together

The thickness of the foam is selected based on the requirements of the structure of the pie. If two layers are obtained, they are laid with a spacing of the seams (so that the seams do not match). So that they do not rub and creak, do not move out of their seats during operation, they can be fastened. To do this, use:

    • Glue for a tile. A thin layer is applied, trimmed with a notched trowel (4 mm). The glue is not for gluing, but for filling the voids that are formed due to the fact that EPSP is often in the form of a “boat”, that is, the edges are torn off when compared with the middle.
    • Mounting umbrellas. Such a length that only sheets of polystyrene are caught. The floor should remain floating. Fixation to the base should not be.
    • Double sided tape.
    • Layering layers with foam. A good option, which allows you to level not the ideal geometry of the EPSS. But the foam must be applied with a very small layer and it should be with a slight expansion.

For floors, GVL in two layers is usually used. Lay them with a run of seams. Layers are fixed on self-tapping screws. GVL thickness for a floor depends on the planned load. Usually use plates of at least 12.5 mm thickness. If the geometry of the material is not perfect and there are differences in height so as not to grind, you can use the same adhesive based on gypsum.

GVL laying on a wooden floor

In principle, everything has been said above. If the wooden floor is flat, you can put the HVL without fear. It normally passes moisture, so that the wood does not threaten rot. If the floor is uneven (which usually happens), it is best to dismantle it and lay the GVL along the lags. Or make a rough floor. If this is impossible for some reason, GVL on a wooden floor can also be put. There is a possibility - eliminate unevenness with a planer, putty in the cracks. If it does not work out, there is an emergency option.

Gypsum fiber sheet helps align this.

We take a primer for gypsum mixtures, cover the floor in several layers. All cracks go through the construction foam with good adhesion, level with the surrounding floor level. Gypsum plaster of good quality is bred for plaster (thick dough). We take a wide spatula and level the floor - apply plaster. In places - on the seashore, in places - until the roughnesses are filled. We take the big rule and align everything in one level. When dry, put two layers of GVL.

How to lay tiles on the floor from GVL

In order for the tile on the GVL to hold well and not crack, the base under the gypsum fiber must be absolutely smooth and strong. If this is a board - no gaps, crevices or sagging. If the floor is made according to the logs, the thickness of the layers should be sufficient so that there is not even the slightest deflection during loading and walking.

Installation of GVL on the floor under the tile - a possible option

Since tiles are usually placed in rooms with high humidity, additional waterproofing is required. It is recommended to use Knauf-Flehendicht or other mastics, rubber paints.

When laying ceramic tiles on GVL, use elastic glue for unstable or complex substrates. Layout so that the tile seam and the joint of the sheets do not match. It is desirable that the joint of the slabs fall in the middle of the tile. With this approach, problems and cracks do not arise.

    Recommendations:

Before use, floor elements must undergo acclimatization (adaptation) in the room.

In the installation area, floor elements must be stored horizontally (flat) on a flat surface.

The design of the prefabricated base of the floor element (screed) should not have slopes.

In cases where a prefabricated Knauf floor (screed) is installed in damp rooms (bathrooms), put KNAUF-Flehendichtband waterproofing tape at the joints of the floor with walls and cover the floor surface with KNAUF-Flehendicht waterproofing.

If the floor covering is thin elastic material, it is recommended to cover the floor base with a layer of self-leveling putty KNAUF-Boden 15 (Level 415) with a thickness of at least 2 mm.

The floor element (EP) - knauf-superfloor increases labor productivity and reduces the time of work.

Significantly reduces the consumption of adhesive mastic and screws.

It allows minimizing waste and ensuring the required “spacing” of joints (at least 250 mm) through the use of residues (EA) of the previous rows.

It simplifies the fitting of screed parts adjacent to enclosing structures with a complex configuration.

Knauf Superfloor floor elements - prefabricated products made of moisture-resistant gypsum fiber KNAUF super sheets (GVLV) to create a “dry” screed - prefabricated floor base.

It is used for the device of a prefabricated floor base in buildings for various purposes.

    • The floor element (EP) - KNAUF-superfloor increases labor productivity and reduces the time of work.
    • Significantly reduces the consumption of adhesive mastic and screws.
    • It allows minimizing waste and ensuring the required “spacing” of joints (at least 250 mm) by using the remnants of EP from the previous rows.
    • It simplifies the fitting of screed parts adjacent to enclosing structures with a complex configuration.

    Preparation for work

Experts advise laying GVL on the floor in two layers with a thickness of 10 mm, and in one layer, if we are talking about slabs of the type “floor element”. This method has significant differences from conventional concrete screed:

    • does not require additional materials,
    • forms significantly less debris and dust,
    • It does not require waiting for the solution to set.

Before installation, it is necessary to mark the contour of the future floor on the walls using levels and plumb lines. These actions must be performed with maximum accuracy. Otherwise, the floor may swell or “float”. Also, the floor surface must be cleaned of dust. You can use a construction vacuum cleaner for this. During this process, noticeable cracks and bumps can be detected. They need to be glossed over. The prepared surface must be primed using a deep penetration solution.

The next step is waterproofing. For this, a plastic film, ruberoid or parchment is suitable. The edges of the waterproofing must be fixed along the upper edge of the marking circuit. This is necessary to improve the result. After waterproofing, a layer of insulation is located. You can use polystyrene foam, polystyrene, mineral wool or expanded clay. In the first three cases, in addition to marking the contour, you need to mount guides from a metal profile or a wooden beam.

If it is decided to use expanded clay for thermal insulation, then a number of rules must be observed. Granules should be small (no more than five centimeters in diameter). After backfilling, the surface must be leveled relative to the level, focusing on the contour and the guides

Particular attention should be paid to the corners of the room.

    KNAUF-SUPERPOL FLOOR ELEMENT (EP)

Elements of the floor - gypsum fiber sheet glued together, with the formation of grooves.

In our online store OptoStroy you can order and buy the Floor Element SUPERPOL (1200 × 600x20 mm / 0.72 m2) KNAUF / KNAUF in any quantity needed at a low price. Your order will be promptly completed and delivered to the specified address in Moscow or the Moscow region on the next business day. There are pickups. The floor elements are made by gluing two moisture-resistant gypsum fiber sheets (GVLV according to GOST R 51829-2001) with dimensions of 1200 x 600 x 20 mm with mutual displacement in two perpendicular directions and the formation of folds 50 mm wide around the perimeter of the products. The total thickness of the EA is 20 mm.

    APPLICATION AREA:

Gypsum sheets glued together are easily assembled and glued together in a groove, forming a solid and even floor base, small size and ease of assembly make the work easy and fast. As a rule, leveling and raising the screed occurs complete with a “dry backfill” (crushed, or obtained in another way, expanded clay aggregate, fine fraction). After installation, the floor is ready for laying parquet, laminate, linoleum, ceramic tiles and other materials. It is possible to use in the bathroom and the bathroom, provided waterproofing.

The most important difference from conventional leveling screeds is its “DRY APPLICATION” and “EASY SCREWS”.

“DRY APPLICATION” - leveling occurs without the use of water. And that means you don’t have to worry that you will flood neighbors and spend money on extra waterproofing. After installation, it is necessary to wait for drying, the screed is ready for the next work (linoleum, laminate, parquet, warm floors, etc.)

“EASY SCREWS” - screed assembled by floor elements, much lighter than basic cement-based screeds

This is not a little important for repairs on balconies, in rooms with an old or weak ceiling. After all, a large load on the floor, with weak support of the floor is fraught with big trouble

    Characteristic

The characteristics of gypsum fiber panels can be evaluated based on their advantages. Consider the main advantages.

    • Strength, due to the presence of a reinforcing substance (cellulose) in the composition of the HLV.
    • Universality. Despite the fact that this material was originally used to level the floor, today it can be used for walls and ceilings; if necessary, the surface can be painted.
    • The ability to maintain a microclimate indoors. Due to the special moisture-resistant properties of HVL, they are able to absorb excess moisture. When the humidity in the room is insufficient, the material will give it back.
    • Increased viscosity. Due to this characteristic, it is easy to work with the material. It does not crumble or crack.
    • Lack of flammability. This property characterizes gypsum fiber as a safe material: it does not ignite, it is difficult to ignite even on purpose.
    • A light weight. You do not have to use force to move the material. This fact greatly facilitates installation.
    • Frost resistance. Even with numerous freezing and thawing, these sheets do not lose their properties. This allows you to mount them in cold rooms, country houses and garages.

    Subtleties of work

The uniqueness of GVL is that they can be laid on almost any floor, including wooden. In this case, it is necessary to take into account several features of the technology of material laying. This is relevant if special requirements are made to the thermal insulation of the room. Here additional material will come to the rescue (for example, polystyrene). It should be noted that the height of the floor in this case will increase significantly.

It is not recommended to use materials of increased thickness: sheets with a thickness of 10 mm are suitable. A dry screed of the trademark allows you to hide all engineering systems, which is completely impossible with a traditional screed. Anyone who has ever dealt with a dry screed of a well-known manufacturer will hardly want to pour concrete on the floor. Even a teenager will cope with the laying of Knauf GVL. The process will not take much time and effort, the room will soon be ready for further work.

    Foundation preparation

Despite the simplicity of working with gypsum fiber panels, the basis for their installation should be well prepared. First you need to lay the insulation and install the guide rails. Expanded clay can be used as insulation material. It is laid on a moisture-retaining surface. It can be a simple film or roofing material. In some cases, you can use glassine.

The wooden block will serve as guides, which greatly facilitate the work, allowing you to evenly lay the material. In addition, the bars serve as guidelines for laying insulation. After the expanded clay is laid throughout the room, it must be leveled and tamped

It is important to pay attention to the corners of the room
